In some tribes of the Omo River Valley in southwestern Ethiopia, certain children
are considered Mingi (Impure, Ritually polluted)

Reasons for being declared Mingi are:
Being born out of wedlock.
Being the result of an unplanned pregnancy.
Being born a twin.
Being born with some sort of deformity or imperfection.
Having one's genitals injured in some way.
Having ones teeth develop in the upper jaw before the lower jaw.
Chipping a tooth during childhood.

Children declared Mingi are considered cursed by the spirits.

It is also believed that Mingi children will bring misfortune to
the community if allowed to live.

Children declared Mingi are either abandoned to die or killed.

Mingi children are either drowned, starved, or, in the case of infants,
have dirt stuffed in their mouths so that they choke to death.

Please, please pray that this evil practice stop!

Actually according to most scholars they're Cherubim.
I've always been fascinated with angels and studied them a lot over the years.

Seraphim
The Seraphim are the highest rank of Angels. They are always in the direct presence of God. They constantly praise and worship God and also act as agents of cleansing and holiness
They're described in Isaiah 6:2 They're six winged: two of their wings are used to cover their feet, two for flying and two to cover their faces. They are called the Burning ones because they are filled with brightness and glory, burning passion for God and holiness

Cherubim
The Cherubim are the second highest rank of angels. They too are always in God’s direct presence, usually around His throne. They praise and worship Him ceaselessly and act as the guardians of His holiness and keepers of heavenly knowledge.

Cherubim are perhaps the most unusual looking type of angels in fact they have even been described as ‘creatures.’ They are covered with eyes and are said to blaze like torches or coals of fire. Some also carry flaming swords.

In the book of Ezekiel they are each described as having four wings, calf’s feet that gleam like bronze, the bodies of men, and four faces: a man, an ox, a lion, and eagle. In the book of Revelation, four Cherubim are described. They are also covered with eyes, but have six wings, instead of four. And instead of each
of them having four faces, each has one face, but an animal’s body. The first cherub is a lion, the second an ox, the third a man and the forth an eagle.

Hey, I may not be a Christian, but I really enjoyed reading your "Pray for" entries! I love learning about other countries and their histories :). And while I may not agree with the spiritual parts, I definitely agree with many of the things in those entries.
