To properly understand all of the Egyptian Names I've listed, one has to understand some of the beliefs of ancient Egypt.
So here are the names of some of the hundreds of gods the Egyptians worshiped,
All of this has given me a better appreciation of what Moses faced when GOD told him to tell the Pharaoh
(who was regarded as divine himself) to let the Hebrews go!
It especially reminds me of GOD's First Commandment:
"You shall have no other gods before Me." Ex 20:3
For all the gods of the peoples are idols, But the LORD made the heavens.
I Chronicles 16:26
"I am the LORD, and there is no other. There is no God besides Me."
Isaiah 45:5
"Look to ME and be saved, all you ends of the Earth!
For I am GOD and there is no other." Isaiah 45:22
"I, even I, am the LORD, and beside Me there is no Savior."
Hosea 13:4
"You shall worship the LORD your GOD and HIM only you shall serve."
Matthew 4:10
I pray that we all remember that. And that we not get so caught up in the study of false gods that we ignore the real One!
