The Luo/Joluo (People of Luo) originated in the Sudan around 3000 B.C.

Around the 13th c A.D. large groups of them began migrating both south and west.

By the 19th century they had spread throughout Uganda, eastern Congo, Tanzania, and Kenya

In Kenya, the Luo population is over 3 million and they are the third largest ethic group

Barack Hussein Obama Sr, father of the current U.S. President, Barack Obama II, is a Luo.
