HISTORY
Alyen was born on the tiny Northern Continent in Skadi, a city famous for its rivers
His parents are architect Stovar Alyen and  fishery manager, Catipa Traidwyn



His two older sisters are Prylae Alyen and Zolee Alyen

Tuskaro grew up in a loving close knit family.  From the start he displayed a gentle, caring nature and many times brought home injured birds or animals to try to heal. Compared to his outgoing, gregarious family he was very quiet and shy. He bonded closely with his grandfather Divo Traidwyn who was similarly quiet.

Tuskaro was devastated when his beloved grandfather died in 2242, but later that year his father received a commission in the south western continent city of Khasha and moved his family there for six months. While there Tuskaro met seven year old Shylea L'Naym
who would someday become his lifemate.

The two children clicked from the start and complimented each other almost perfectly: Shylea drew Tuskaro out of his shyness and he in turn taught her to be more quiet and patient. Both of them had gentle, caring natures, both of them loved nature, and both of them were fascinated with the stars and dreamed of the worlds they shone on. 

When Tuskaro's family moved back to Skadi he and Shylea kept in close contact. Over the years their friendship grew into love and by the time they were twenty they both knew that their hearts beat only for each other. In 2257, after taking Adult Passage they Joined their souls and became lifemates.

Not long afterwards they left Nlia to join Starfleet. They had briefly considered entering the Academy but instead chose the Enlisted Training Program. Part of it was eagerness; they were both new adults, newly lifemated and eager to start their lives in earnest. Another reason was that as lifemates they knew that they would likely have children someday and that if they did they would almost certainly be assigned to station or planetary duty. So if they wanted to travel among the stars now was the time to do it. But the biggest reason was that neither of them had any desire to be leaders. Both were gentle natured and far better suited to being friends as opposed to leaders and were content to follow

They graduated from the Enlisted Training Program in 5/2258. Due to the upheaval in Starfleet chaos in caused by Nero's rampage it was some months before they were given assignments. New Enlisted were usually assigned to stations or outposts after graduation but both of them had good scores and they were assigned to the USS Saratoga.

From the moment Alyen and L’Naym and met Kirk a strong bond formed between them. It was an unusual friendship to be sure, since Alyen and L’Naym aren’t even officers but enlisted personnel, and captains didn't normally form close friendships with low ranking crew. But since when has James T. Kirk ever been conventional?


Eventually the two Nlians formed a Soul Sibling bond with Kirk.  When Nlians ‘join’ their souls they become Lifemates. Alyen and L’Naym ‘shared’ their Souls with Kirk and he with them, forming a less powerful but very deep bond between them. 

From the moment they shared their Souls the two Nlians became Kirk’s Soul Siblings and he became their Soul Brother. They know him more intimately than any other, he knows them almost as well as they do each other and is able to communicate telepathically whenever they’re in physical contact.

Alyen and L’Naym are two Joined Souls that have embraced a Third, not as a lover, but a friend and brother. Kirk is a Single Soul that has been Touched by two Joined souls. He loves them both dearly and considers them his brother and sister.

SKILLS
A skilled paramedic and medical assistant, Alyen has an inborn, instinctive gift for healing.
He is well liked for his nurturing ways and excellent bedside manner. 
He has an iron stomach in a crisis and can treat the worst injuries while never dropping his encouraging demeanor. 

He's a good instructor and adept at passing on his knowledge.
He enjoys music and is a skilled flute player.

PERSONALITY
Personality-wise he’s soft spoken and gentle with a touch of shy. 
He’s happy to let others do the talking but when he does talk is very insightful
Kind and compassionate he’s never spoken an unkind word to anyone and never refuses a request for help.

Despite his gentle nature he has tremendous inner strength.
He won’t hesitate to stand up for himself and others and in times of crisis is capable of tremendous purpose-driven focus. 

He's intensely curious about other worlds and enjoys going on away missions. 

He’s completely devoted to his lifemate, Shylea and fiercely loyal to his Captain/Soul Brother Kirk

FRIENDS
As well as his Soul Brother Kirk, Alyen has several other friends

He greatly admires and respects Chief Medical Officer, Dr Leonard McCoy.

He's good friends with Petty Officer Steven Bower from Operations.
And Crewman Todd Daniels from Engineering.

He later becomes a mentor to Ensign Bazi from Medical
