Skadi is a city on the planet Nlia which exists in my AU Star Trek ‘New Start’ verse

NLIA
Nlia is located in the Revla System located in the Alpha Quadrant.
It is the home of the Nlians who are members of the United Federation of Planets.



The planet has three landmasses:
The Northern Land: A tiny northern island continent, roughly the size of Turkey. 
The Western Land:  A large western continent the size of Eurasia
The Eastern Land:   A large eastern continent about the size of Asia.

The two southern continents are collectively referred to as the Southern Lands 
They are comprised mostly of desert with some arid grasslands at the northern coasts and the southern tips.

NORTHERN CONTINENT
In stark contrast to the Southern Lands, the tiny Northern Land, is temperate and covered with dense forests,


CENTRAL FORESTS
The Central Forests  Region is covered with towering hardwood forests.
Most of the trees are many times larger than Earth trees

SKADI
Skadi is the southern central area of the region.
It is southwest of Benlon and west of Olseese.

Skadi is surrounded by several rivers and called the City of Rivers as a result.

Skadi is the largest city in the Central Forests and an important economic and commercial hub.
It has a diverse economy with strengths in trade, finance, services, tourism, fishing,
lumber, woodwork and hydrology.
Like the rest of the Northern Continent the area is known for the quality of its wood
and the people are skilled woodworkers.

Rivers have long been of great commercial and symbolic importance here.
For thousands of years the Nlians of this area have been known for their skill at river faring.
The city is well known for its boat races and river pageantry.

Residents are often referred to as the Children of the River  
Even children are skilled swimmers and know how to handle a canoe or cayak.

Skadi has close economic and social ties with Alee and Mkossa
The cities are connected by river and travel between them is constant.
